Our Impact
In our inaugural year, our goal is to establish Rio Hondo Artists’ Residency as a community arts initiative, inviting the residents of Taos, NM, into the process of artistic creation with professional choreographers and artists.
RHAR brings more professional dance to Taos & strengthens the network between artists - especially between dancers and other artists (painters, poets, digital artists, sculptors, musicians, and more) who don’t traditionally collaborate.

In 2026, RHAR will:
offer 2 movement workshops, from studio to stage, for all ages & levels of movers
host 4 community workshops, centered around writing and conversation
built relationships with local artists who are interested in collaborating with dance for the future through Artists’ Interactions
showcase the works-in-progess developed by our resident & collaborative artists in First Edition at the Wildflower Playhouse on July 3, 2026
work with Taos Kids One to create a documentary / dance film that will form the foundation of a movement & arts education outreach program
offer a minimum of 4 outreach events to elementary school students in Taos in the fall
